The Blogger Behind “Then Life Gave Me Lemons,” Kate Julian, Revives Your Beauty Routine.

For this beauty tutorial, we travel back in time—back to the heydays of Brigitte Bardot and Twiggy. Think bold brows, doe eyes and nude lips. When you throw them all together, you get a fabulous fresh-faced look that recently rocked spring runways from popular designers like Marc Jacobs to Isaac Mizrahi, and now will soon be featured on your face!

Let’s start at the top and work our way down, shall we? After you have primed and powdered your face with your favorite tinted moisturizer and sheer powder, we’re going to work on those brows.

Step 1: Clean those puppies up. Using a pair of tweezers, pluck away any strays and then brush with an eyebrow brush for a clean look.

Step 2: Using an eyebrow filler, start at the inside and work your way out, applying the filler over your entire brows, in a feathered motion—we don’t want these to look like you drew them on with a marker.

Step 3: Blend your brows, giving them an even, thicker look.

Now it’s on to your eyes.

Step 4: White eye liner is going to be your friend here. Line your inner rims with the liner. This will give them an instant doe-eyed effect.

Step 5: Throw some shadow on your lids—staying in the nude or light pink/champagne family.

Step 6: Apply mascara on your lashes. For a more extreme doe-eyed effect, apply false lashes.

And lastly, luscious nude lips …

Step 7: For nude lips, apply a touch of lip balm to keep your lips hydrated. Take your concealer and apply that to your lips for the ultimate nude.

Step 8: Finish with a touch of gloss.

Voila! You are the ultimate ‘60s vixen, ready to take on the day or night.
